A walk full of adventure and surprises. And once on top as a reward, a magnificent view over Lake Idro.
We start our trekking at the Bellavista pizzeria (Via Costa,1). This is located on the road to Capovalle in Crone. Here we go up the road on foot, at the fork we keep to the right. After a fifteen- to twenty-minute walk, we arrive at the first waterfall.
The path continues up to the left of the waterfall, in the gorge we reach 5 footbridges from where we have a magnificent view of the river flow (river Neco) that finds its way during its descent to the lake. Along the way we also encounter some steel stairs several meters high which makes this trip more challenging.
In total we pass 4 waterfalls, each with its own charm.
The real work begins after the last waterfall at 519 m. Some pieces are quite intensive but with an occasional break if necessary it is doable. Following the indications of signs 451, we turn left at the top of a narrow rocky path that takes us to the top of Monte Croce di Perlé (1031 m). In the metal box is a booklet in which you can write your name and / or text. Make sure the pen and booklet are put back in place and close the lid tightly.
I recommend good footwear for this trek and bring plenty to drink. There are no fountains along the way. To get to the top take an average of 1.5 to 2 hours. This trek falls under a medium degree and has a height difference of about 600 meters. The Sentiero delle Cascate is also recommended for those who only want to visit the waterfalls without the trekking to Monte Perlè. Keep in mind that during the summer months the river is almost dry so the waterfalls will be less spectacular. But that can soon change after a good rainfall.
