By now, you are getting to know me a little better and know that I love to seek out new challenges and activities to share with you. So recently I had the opportunity to visit this beautiful fortress. And I was pleasantly surprised!
Forte Corno is located in the village of Praso, which is in the Valle del Chiese, half an hour’s drive from Ponte Caffaro towards Valle di Daone. I must confess that until recently, I only knew the name of this fortress and passed it once on a bicycle, but never went into more detail about it. But I can tell you, it is well worth a visit!
Authentic
Forte Corno was built in 1883 and suffered no damage during the war. Therefore, during your visit you will walk through the original corridors and all walls are still authentic. Personally, I find that this gives something extra to an old building, as if you go back in time. Yet quite exciting to walk through those narrow passages and since this fortress has 5 floors there is enough to visit!
You can visit Forte Corno, but only if accompanied by a guide. But I can really recommend that because only they can tell you the story of this beautiful fortress.
Forte Corno is open from July to September every Saturday and Sunday (until 19/09).
